Syddan continued their early season momentum with a 10 point win in Dunsany in Division 3 of the All county A league on Saturday evening in Dunsany.
The hosts started the stronger and led by 04 to 02 points after 15 minutes, Syddan's solitary score coming from Cathal Dardis on 5 minutes with a fine two pointer from range. Syddan took over in the second quarter, three points from Eoghan Dillon, Daire Rowe with a 2 pointer free and then a well taken goal on 23 minutes put Syddan firmly in control. Further points from Sean Clare, Ronan Mooney, and Ben Blakemore left Syddan with a commanding 1.11 to 0.05 lead at the break.
Syddan continued where they left off in the second half with points from Cormac Rowe, Michael Fedigan, Daire Rowe, Eoghan Dillon and Graham Garland put 11 between the sides on 46 minutes. The Syddan defence was also in control restricting Dunsany to 6 scores with the aid of the slight breeze. The game was over as a contest when a fine save from Ciaran Flynn in the Dunsany goals denied Daire Rowe from the penalty spot after Patrick Balfe had been upended as he bore down on goal. Eoghan Dillon converted the resulting 45 and he then added a further point on the stroke of full time to leave the final score Syddan 1.18 Dunsany 0.11
