Bhulf Ton 1-13 Ballinabrackey 2-12 in Ballinabrackey
Ar thrathnóna gaofar, ag imirt leis an ngaoth lig Bhulf Tón dhá chúil isteach go luath sa chluiche agus mar sin ni raibh siad dothain chun tosaigh ag leatham. Mar sin féin, d’imir siad le sprid iontach sa dara leath ach niorbh fheidir leo na scóranna a fháil in aghaidh cosaint laidir na foirne baile.
Playing with a strong wind in the first half Tones held a slender one-point lead at half time 0-10 to 2-3 having recovered somewhat from the concession of two goals in the opening minutes. Gary Mc Fadden hit a two-pointer and Saran O Fionnagain hit the crossbar in between the home sides two goals in a very exciting opening to this game. Oisin Martin’s point preceded two “two pointers” from Dan O Neill and a “two pointer” from Saran O Fionnagain to see the visitors lead by 0 09 to 2 00 after twenty minutes. Crucially Bracks arrested the slide and outscored Tones three points to one in the closing minutes, Kyle Moran pointing for Tones to leave the minimum between the sides at half time.
Tones needed a good start to the second half but the home side hit six points without reply including two two-pointers. Tones now trailed by five points but found scores hard to come by against a well marshalled defence and a strong wind even though they had lots of territory in the opposition half. An Adrian Crawford goal followed by a Kyle Moran free left just two between the sides and ensured very competitive exchanges right to the end. However two points was the margin at the end. The sides traded points, Caolan Ward and Stephen Sheppard being on the mark for Tones.
Tones played with great spirit to overcome poor starts to both halves, two goals at the start of the first half and six points at the start of the second in windy greasy conditions. Next up an away game in Seneschalstown.
