St Colmcilles 2-10 St Brigids 0-20
St Brigids travelled on Sunday morning to Piltown to open their Division 4 League campaign.
Colmcilles started strongly and had three points on the scoreboard before Michael Flood opened our account with a point in the sixth minute. David Gibney followed up with a point with Cian Blake grabbing two to get us moving along nicely. We were guilty of missing numerous chances though but by halftime we were just the one adrift with the score reading 0-07 to 0-06 in favour of the hosts.
Whatever was said by our management at the halftime break certainly worked as we hit the fiftyeth minute of the match with a ten point advantage with the score reading 0-17 to 0-07 with Colmcilles following this with their first point of the second period in the fiftyfirst minute. Cian and Dylan Briody added two more points before Colmcilles found their purple patch to hit us for two goals and two points in the next five minutes to leave just the three points between us entering added time.
A tense couple of minutes followed before substitute Ivan Smyth found his range to knock over a point to ensure we left Piltown with the win and a great start to our League Campaign.
