St Brigids 2-10 Kilmainham 0-08
St Brigids welcomed Kilmainham to Ballinacree on Sunday morning in Round three of the Tailteann Cup.
We started strongly and had a goal from Leo McCann and a point on the scoreboard before Kilmainham got their first point on fifteen minutes. Dylan Briody scored another goal for us with the next play which left us with a healthy lead at the break 2-05 to 0-03.
We found the going a bit tougher in the second period though and Kilmainham put four unanswered points on the board to leave it 2-05 to 0-07 in the fiftyfourth minute. With the next play Luke Blake scored a badly needed point which seemed to lift us as we put three more over within the next three minutes to push us out to 2-09 to 0-07 which effectively killed of the Kilmainham challenge. One more point apiece saw the game out and the finish of the group stages of the competition in which we secured two wins and a draw. We await other results now to see whether we play a semi-final or qualify direct for the final.
