Bective 6-11 Drumconrath Meath Hill 0-9
Bective claimed the first piece of Meath GAA silverware on offer for 2025 with this comfortable win over Drumconrath Meath Hill in the Under 19 Division 4 Football League final played in breezy conditions at Bective.
After missing a couple of early chances Harry Smith put the home side in front after eight minutes. Corner forward Alex Connick extended their lead minutes later with the games first goal. Adam Cully and David Donnelly began to dominated around the middle sector and the scores followed. Points from Sean Manning (2), Smith, Anthony Dwyer and Connick were registered before Ferdia Maguire got in for goal number two. Ciaran McConnell’s men led 2-6 to 0-4 at the break.
Bective made the push for home in the early stages of the second half. Two quick fire goals from Manning and Aaron Dowdall opened up a 14 point gap. Cully raised green flag number five with a quarter to go. Liam O’Brien got in for goal number six with five minutes remaining but by that stage the title was well on its way to the men in green and white.
After the game Bective club legend Joey Geraghty presented the Under 19 Division 4 Football League trophy to David Donnelly.
