LGFA Div 4 FL: Big win for Kilbride

February 24, 2025

Kilbride's Megan Peters

Kilbride: 7-14 Blackhall Gaels: 0-4

Kilbride Ladies travelled to Kilcloon on Thursday evening for the first game of the division four league against Blackhall Gaels.

Kilbride started off strong with four scores in the first ten minutes from Anna McKeon, Jessica Malone, Laura Gavin and Megan Peters, as well as a very close goal chance by Holly Clancy.

The ladies persisted against the strong winds, communicating well by handpassing the ball over and back the field, which worked out very well in their favour.

Blackhall found it difficult to get through Kilbride’s strong and structured defence line, resulting in only one point being scored by them when it came to halftime.

Halftime score: Kilbride 3-10 / Blackhall 0-1.

Substitutions were made in the second half, Grace Moody succeeded in scoring a goal within the first five minutes of coming on. Ruby McManus added to the scoreboard by also securing a goal. Another two score’s from Megan Peters, who gave an outstanding performance of scoring three goals and six points overall.

Kilbride showed a fantastic display of teamwork, communication, and defence in their first league game.

This can be seen from the final score; Kilbride 7-14 / Blackhall Gaels 0-4.
