Coole N.S. 1-13 St. Oliver’s N.S., Kilcloon 4-4
Coole and Kilcloon played out a highly entertaining Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Boys Division 3 football final draw in the third game of the day at Páirc Tailteann.
Coole last won a schools final in 2009 while St. Olivers were appearing in their first decider in over 27 years.
Coole got a great start and were 1-3 to 0-0 up after seven minutes. Points from Evan Carroll, Jamie Reilly and James Fagan along with an Evan Reynolds goal put the boys in Blue and Amber in control. John Molloy kick started the Kilcloon fightback with a point. A James Larkin goal on the 11th minute left a point between the teams. Reilly, Joe Kenny and Cooper Lyons McDaid put Coole four up but and Aidan Kelly goal for Kilcloon left the minimum between the teams at half time.
Fagan and Kenny extended Coole’s lead with early second half points but Kilcloon were two in front with ten minutes remaining thanks to a Larkin and Tomás Hester goals. Cooper Lyons McDaid tied up the game and Reynolds gave Coole the lead with two minutes remaining. Kilcloon were not to be denied another day out and John Molloy kicked the equaliser just before the full time whistle.
