Kilmessan 1-18 Kildalkey 2-10
Kilmessan got their defence of the Meath Under 21 Hurling Championship title off to a winning start with this five point win over Kildalkey under lights at Dunganny.
A Kris Gorman goal gave Kilkmessan a 1-10 to 1-5 interval lead. Kildalkey had the lead down to two with minutes remaining but the holders finished with points from Mark Horan and Lorcan Byrne to run out deserving winners.
