Kilmessan celebrate with the MHC Division 2 Shield

Kilmessan 3-09 Kiltale 3-08

Following on from their Junior Hurling Championship title win last weekend, it was the turn of Kilmessan’s minors to get their hands on another trophy and continue a great year for the club.

A point separated the teams at the break. Stephen Cahill fresh from his football heroics during the week got Kilmessan’s first goal and they went in at the break 1-5 to 1-4 in front.

A brace from Conor Horan extended that lead early in the second half but Kiltale tied up matters with their second goal. Horan and Mickey Wall raised green flags and Kilmessan were in control again with a four point lead. Kiltale got in for their third goal in injury time but Kilmessan held on for the narrowest of wins.
