Moynalty's Eoin Gilsenan heads for the Killary Emmets goal during the MFC Division 3 final at Dunganny

Moynalty 1:07 Killary Emmets 2:17

Moynalty met Killary Emmets in the LMFM Minor Division 3 Championship final under the lights in Dunganny.

Moynalty qualified for this following a great victory over Na Fianna last week however this proved a step too far for the lads as they came up against a strong and slick Syddan - Castletown combination.

Killary started strong racing into an early lead. Moynalty eventually settled into the game with points from Eoin Gilsenan, Cathal Donoghue and Sean McMahon. However the concession of two goals just before half time left the lads with an uphill task.

The lads never gave up and kept battling away in the second half, Sean McMahon finishing a goal after a fine team move involving Joe McMahon and Caomhin Cussen. However that was as good as it got for the reds as Killary remained dominant and never let up.

The lads can reflect on a positive year, going it on their own competing well in division 3 in both league and championship, with some great performances and memorable victories on route to the final.
