Conor Gillespie with Brian Flanagan before the 2023 Meath SFC final at Pairc Tailteann

Following Summerhill's defeat to Dunboyne in last Sunday’s Senior Football Championship quarter final Conor Gillespie stepped down as manager. The former county midfielder will join new Meath senior football manager Robbie Brennan’s backroom team as selector/coach. A few weeks ago Gillespie’s coach at Summerhill, Brian Flanagan was announced as Kildare senior manager.

The 2023 Keegan Cup winners paid tribute to Conor and his hard working team on their social media outlets.

The Club would like to wish Conor Gillespie the best of luck in his new role as part of new Meath GAA managers Robbie Brennan's coaching team. Conor will bring a huge footballing knowledge and drive to his new role.

Conor stepped down as manager of the Summerhill yesterday after three very successful years in charge, winning two league titles and unforgettably bringing the Keegan Cup back to Summerhill last year after ten years.

We would like to thank Conor and his management team Paddy Beirne, Brian Flanagan and Paul Comey for their great work and dedication over the past three years. Thank also to Ciaran Madden Dermot Clarke and Physio Paddy Mulligan for all their work .

Best wishes also to Brian Flanagan as begins his new role as Kildare GAA manager.
