Premier 4 FC semi final: Dunderry get over the line

September 24, 2024

Dunderry's Bob Doherty

Dunderry 2-10 Meath Hill 1-11

The sat navs were in action for the visiting Dunderry supporters on Monday evening as they navigated their way to Meath Hill for this Premier Division 4 Football Championship semi final.

The visitors started better and had a half time lead of 1-4 to  2-5 .

The second half started with the home team pointing from play. Dunderry followed that with a fine move involving Connelly coming from center back straight down the middle and off loading to Kelly who split the posts. The first of five second half frees for Meath Hill followed but Bob Doherty turned up the heat with a brace of well taken points. A Mark Leavy free off the left foot had it 1-6 against 2-9 mid way through the second half. Meath Hill hit back with a free before Kelly drilled over superbly off the outside of the boot. That was to be Dunderrys last score with five left on the clock.

The next nine or ten minutes were all played in the Dunderry half with decisions mostly going the home teams way. Dunderry struggled to gain possession and were lucky to get across the line with a nine point margin reduced down to two when the final whistle sounded.

Details on the final to follow.
