Dunshaughlin more than made up for last years heart breaking injury time defeat to Ratoath with this impressive display in the Meath SFC quarter final played at Pairc Tailteann.

Luke Mitchell will remember the opening quarter of this game for a long time. The talented corner forward gave Dunshaughlin a firm grip on proceedinga with two goals and a point inside 11 minutes. Ratoath, while kicking some wides were limited to four points in the opening half through Jack Flynn, Eamon Wallace and Daithi McGowan as those two early goals separated the teams at the break. Dunshaughlin 2-4 Ratoath 0-4.

Midway through the second half Ratoath had the lead down to four 2-7 to 0-9 before Dunshaughlin broke for two goals inside two minutes. Mathew Costello after a trade mark powerful run with the first quickly followed by their third from Conor Duke. 

Ratoath refused to give up and added five points from Glen O’Reilly, Flynn, Joey Wallace (2) and Bryan McMahon before the final whistle but Richie Kealy’s men were well on their way to a last four meeting with Dunboyne in two weeks time.
