IFC quarter final: Depleted Kilbride bow out

September 23, 2024

Kilbride's Andrew McWeeney

Meath Hill 3-16, Kilbride 2-9

Kilbride travelled to Walterstown on Saturday to play Meath Hill in the 1/4 final of the Championship. Meath Hill were the stronger team from the start getting the first scores on the board within minutes. Kilbride played well in parts but were no match to this team in the first half leading 2-12 to 5 points at half time.

Kilbride played a better second half scoring 2-4 but still could not match the experienced players of Meath Hill. Final score Meath Hill 3-16, Kilbride 2-9.

I would like to thank each and every player on this young Kilbride side for getting the team to Intermediate level for the first time in nearly 50 years. A strong young side who can only get better in the coming years. Well done lads and we wish all those injured a speedy recovery and hopefully back for next season.

A huge thanks to Manger Leo, coaches Anthony, Eamon and Paul for all their hard work getting this team to where they are today and a huge thanks to Claire for keeping them all on their toes.

Finally, good luck to our Senior Ladies who have their Semi Final Championship game this Sunday 29th September in Kilbride at 2.30pm, all support welcome.
