Kilmessan 3-18 Killyon 1-14
Kilmessan advanced to the Meath Senior Hurling Championship semi final with this comfortable win over Killyon at Pairc Tailteann.
The only blemish of the day for the winners was the sending off of Eoin Harkin on a straight red with five minutes on the clock.
Minutes later Kris Gorman got the games first goal and on the 10th minute Declan Smyth raised Kilkmessan’s second green flag to give them control of proceedings. Those two goals separated the teams at the break as Nicky Horan’s men went to the dressing room 2-9 to 0-9 in front.
A scoring burst in the third quarter that yielded six points from Luke Horan (4), Darragh Horan and Gorman opened up a 2-15 to 0-10 lead and Kilmessan were well on their way to the last four.
