St. Vincents 3-11 Dunderry 0-12
Dunsany welcomed both teams on Saturday evening at six.
Vincent's gathered from the throw in and had the ball in the net within a minute. That was followed up with a free before Clarke responded with a free off the left boot. The saints stretched the lead out to 4 before Carty and Coogan intercepted 2 kick outs to leave if 0-3 to 1-2.
A let off from a goal mouth scramble saw the Ardcath men take a handy point and this was followed up by 2 more after our kick outs were intersected.
Leavy pointed, Coogan from placed ball and a Ben Clarke conversion from a side line had it 0-6 to 1-7 at the break.
2-2 conceded after the restart had the writing on the wall for Dunderry. Duffy pointed to stop the rut but Vincent's went straight back up the field and pointed from play.
Coogan hit 2 on the bounce and when Mark Leavy pointed the gap was only down to 10 points. The eventual winners and by far the better team hit one last free before Conor Leavy and Adam Kelly pointed to leave it 0-12 to 3 -11.
Better days and years ahead for the Village.
