St. Colmcilles 1-9 Na Fianna 0-7

With two wins from two outings St. Colmcilles advanced to the knockout stages of the Meath Senior Football Championship with this five point win over Na Fianna in difficult conditions at Simonstown.

Defences were on top in the opening half but the games crucial score came after 26 minutes with full forward Ben Brennan finishing to the Na Fianna net and give Niall Ronan’s charges a 1-2 to 0-2 interval lead.

Na Fianna got the first two scores of the second half but a point from the very impressive corner back Adam Lynch got the Cilles back on track.

Shane Barrett’s men narrowed the lead to 1-7 to 0-6 with five minutes remaining but points from Ben Brennan and Oisin Brennan sealed a second win for the Seasiders who now advance to the last eight.
