Oldcastle 4-11 St. Pats 0-10
Oldcastle turned in a very impressive display to see off one of the favourites, St. Pats, for the Mattie McDonnell Cup in this opening round of the IFC played in splendid conditions at Pairc Tailteann.
From the word go the Stamullen men had no answer to the pace and hunger of Brian Donohoe’s charges.
Rory Crawley making his senior debut got the games first goal after ten minutes and further points from the impressive CJ Healy, Robbie Farrelly and Keith Connell gave the North Meath club a deserved 1-8 to 0-3 interval lead.
