IHC Group B: Much needed win for Kilskyre Moylagh

August 06, 2024

Darren O'Higgins Kilskyre Moylagh

Kilskyre/Moylagh 6-17 Trim 1-6

Kilskyre Moylagh were under pressure heading into this Round 3 match at Boardsmill on the back of two narrow defeats to Kildalkey and Rathmolyon. A smart start was needed to brush off any uncertainty about where this team was at for this year’s intermediate championship.

Kilskyre Moylagh got exactly what they needed a quick start and a blitz of goals that put this game to bed early registering 3:04 before Trim registered their first score. Three goals, the first an opportunist goal from poacher Killian McCaffrey followed by two smart goals from Darren O’Higgins and Fergal Flynn.

The second half was more of the same with Trim offering little to turn the game around. Kilskyre Moylagh tacked on another brace of goals from McCaffrey and O’Higgins with McGrath, Daire Shine, James Cooke also contributing to the second half.

Its just one win from three so its keep winning from here on for Kilskyre Moylagh to maintain a challenge for the IHC.
