CJ Lynch fires home Meath's first goal during the Tedd Webb Cup semi final against Dublin at Ballinlough

Meath Under 16 footballers advanced to the Tedd Webb Cup final after this three point win over Dublin in wet conditions at a splendid Ballinlough GAA grounds. PHOTOS

The visitors dominated the opening quarter and led 0-4 to 0-0. CJ Lynch brought the young Royals back into the game with a well taken goal. Points from Jesse O’Rourke and man of the match Charlie Gallagher put Meath in front. Dublin levelled before the break and the teams went to the dressing rooms all square 1-2 to 0-5.

Four points from Gallagher and one each from O’Rourke and Will Byrne put Meath in front 1-8 to 0-8 midway through the second half. Dublin levelled proceedings from the penalty spot and were ahead with seven minutes remaining. Meath dug deep, Byrne levelled the game again and soon after Lynch was in for his second goal after great work by substitute Omokorede Otubanjo. O’Rourke added his third point and Meath were on their way to the final.
