Having lost to Walterstown twice this year already Trim were in no mood to make it three in a row as they ran out convincing winners in this Minor Football League Division 2 final played at Pairc Tailteann. PHOTOS

Jesse O’Rourke and Alex Fox had the winners on the scoreboard first. Eanna Holland got Walterstown up and running and with 12 minutes on the clock a point separated the teams. O’Rourke and corner back Gearoid O’Donnell extended Trim’s lead and another brace from O’Rourke before the break gave them a 0-7 to 0-3 interval lead.

Walterstown had to wait till the 17th minute for their only score of the second half. With Trim in total control and scores from O’Rourke (3), O’Donnell and Daniel Fox the Town side led by eight before the games only goal arrived courtesy of midfielder Caoimhin O’Neill to seal a comfortable win for the men in red.

After the game Minor Board Chairman Ray Finnegan presented the MFL Division 2 Cup to Trim captain Luca Taheny.
