Longwood 2-24 Rathmolyon 2-15

Rathmolyon suffered their first defeat of the Division 3 Hurling League when they made the short trip to Longwood on Saturday afternoon.

Longwood opened the score with two consecutive points.

Darren Hennessey claimed the first point for Rathmolyon with the visitors goal coming from Seán Howley. It was tight all the way to the break with both teams on a scoreline of 1-11.

The second half saw Longwood put severe pressure on the Rathmolyon defence.  

 Longwood clocked up the scores and a fortuitous goal pushed them well ahead. Despite a late goal from Vinnie Ward, the Village could not reel Longwood in.
