Kildalkey were comfortable winners of the Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Division 1/2 Hurling Shield with this 15 point victory over Cannistown in the first game of a six card programme on Saturday at Trim. PHOTOS

The winners dominated the opening half and a goal and two from Daithi Birmingham along with four points from Lucas Heverin put them ten points up at the break, 1-8 to 0-1. The boys in blue were well on their way to their first Shield title since 2009 when Samuel Dolan and Cillian Davis netted inside the opening ten minutes of the second half. 

After the game joint captains Harry McMahon and Samuel Dolan received the Division 1/2 Shield from Nollag O’Neill-Forde. 

Kildalkey scorers: Lucas Severin 0-5, Daithi Birmingham 1-2, Samuel Dolan 1-1, Cillian Davis 1-0, Finn Carroll and Jack Carroll 0-2 each.
