Gaelscoil na Mí's Aoibheann Ní Dhálaigh shoots as Lismullen's Lucy McGrane closes in during the Shield camogie final at Trim
Gaelscoil na Mí Ashbourne 6-6 Lismullen NS 2-2
Gaelscoil na Mí Ashbourne created their own piece of history by claiming their first Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol camogie title with this comfortable Shield win over Lismullen, who were also entering a team for the first time. PHOTOS
The Ashbourne school led at the break 5-4 to 1-0, their goals coming from Sophia Hargrove Ní Mhaoltuile (2), Carla Nic Chathmhaoil (2) and Aimee-leigh Ní Mhaoltuile. Jane Reynolds kept Lismullen in the game with their first score midway through the half.
Sophia Hargrove Ní Mhaoltuile added 1-1 to her tally in the second half while Lismullen finished strongly with a Poppy Kiernan goal and a point from Grace Gibbons.
After the game Willie Lyons presented the Shield to captain Charlie Ní Dhoinn.
