Meath got their first win in this years Leinster Minor Football Championship campaign with this seven point victory over Westmeath played at Cusack Park Mullingar.

In a very low scoring opening half the home side led at the break 0-4 to 0-2.

The visitors dominated the opening twenty minutes of the second half and with goals from Evan Kelly and Pat Crawley they were 2-9 to 0-5 in front with ten minutes remaining. Westmeath raised a green flag with five to go but it was too late as Meath recorded a comfortable win.

Joe Cowley’s charges now advance to the Leinster Preliminary Quarter where they will meet Wexford in Ashbourne on Wednesday, 24th  April 2024 at 7.30pm
