Ballinabrackey 2-10 Navan O'Mahonys 0-9

On Saturday afternoon, Ballinabrackey welcomed Navan O'Mahonys to The Boyne Park for The Husqvarna Centre at P.R Coyne & Sons AFL D1 Round 4.

It was a perfect afternoon for a game of football. An exchange of frees opened the scoring for both teams before Sean Kavanagh stepped up to find the back of the Navan net, slotting home for Ballinabrackey's first goal of the evening. Bracks picking up speed, Damien Carroll taking 2 points at ease to keep the scores ticking for the home team. Another goal for Ballinabrackey, this time from David Carroll, all of a sudden, there was a seven point gap before O'Mahonys found their 3rd point on the board. There was a five minute spell before either team found the next score. Navan were reduced to 14 men when no.10 received a black card 3 minutes before the break. A half-time substitution saw the O'Brien Brothers swap around Andrew making way for Adam. A slow starting second half with 7 minutes on the clock before either team got a score, when Damien stepped up again to get The Bracks off the mark. It took O'Mahonys a further four minutes before they found their scoring boots for the second half. Danny Quinn slotted over his first point of the day from a placed ball. Damien Carroll followed up with yet another to add to his tally. Ballinabrackey kept that 5 to 6 point cushion between the teams with Barry Thompson and Danny Quinn both taking their chances when they occured. Ballinabrackey keep their unbeaten run in this year's League going strong. A rest week next but their next outing sees them travel to Na Fianna on April 27th.
