FL Div 5: 'Wood' win big in Seneschalstown

Kilmainhamwood were too strong for Seneschalstown in the Division 5 FL

Kilmainhamwood 5-17 to Seneschalstown 0-6

On a calm warm Sunday morning in Kilmainhamwood our 1stteam played out a Division 5 league game against Seneschalstown. 

Kilmainhamwood started much the brighter of the two teams with the clinical Eoin Rooney putting 2 quick scores on the board followed a point from Shane Townley and a well struck 45 from Niall Bennett. Seneschalstown responded with a single point of their own but had multiple chances to reduce the gap. 

On the other end of the pitch Callum Crosbie chipped in with a well taken free. Ciaran Doyle travelled out well from corner back to get a point of his own on the board. Eoin Rooney continued his hot scoring streak with a well taken goal and another 2 points to end out the first half The half time score was Kilmainhamwood 1-10 to Seneschalstown 0-4. 

Paul Carolan and Niall Conlan entered the fray at half time and it didn’t take Carolan long to make his presence felt tagging on 2 points of his own to an ever increasing margin between the teams. Eoin Rooney in fine fettle also tagged on another hat-trick of points. The hard working Noah Madden found himself in the right place at the right time to dispatch the ball to the net. The game was over as a contest at this stage.

The Kilmainhamwood management emptied out the bench with Cathal Bennett, Niall McCabe and Shane Lynch entering the fray for Michael Shankey who got a goal right before being subbed off, Richard Corbally and Eoin Rooney who finished up with a tally of 1-7 with 1-6 from play on the day. From this point Kilmainhamwood kicked on with with another 2 goals 1 each for Kian Gillespie and Killian Russell and another point from Paul Carolan.
