Drumconrath 0-9 St Patricks 0-4 

Drumconrath got their 1st win of the season with a deserved 5 point win over a battling St Pats side in breezy Drumconrath on Sunday morning.

With a few absentees who had headed to Aintree for the weekend Drums were happy to garner the 2 points available and indeed called a few players out of retirement to ensure there were enough bodies to fill the Famous Red Jersey's.

Sean Kane played his 1st game in a number of years and obliged with a clean sheet and talisman Steven Crosby lined out for the 1st time since 2022.

Drums used home advantage to good style in the early stage's and landed the first 4 points of the game through Daniel Byrne (2), Matthew Durnin and Oran Brady as they settled into a nice rhythm.

The team in White rattled over their 1st point just as the first quarter ended but scores dried up after that with only 2 in the 2nd quarter with Durnin added another for The Reds while Pats replied late on with their 2nd of the day.

Drumconrath dominated the 3rd quarter but while having plenty of possession they found scores hard to come by as Steven Crosby and Byrne with his 3rd stretched the home sides lead out to 5 points.

The last quarter was more even with the sides sharing 4 points with the visitors notching 2 to narrow the gap while Oisin Reilly strode forward with purpose to point and substitute Kieran Weldon troubled the scoreboard for the last time in the game when he shot over in injury time.

All in all a good day for Drumconrath who will hope this win will push them on to better things.
