ST. MICHAELS v CURRAHA

St. Michaels 0-06, Curraha 1-09

Curraha made home advantage pay on Saturday evening last with a comfortable victory over a young St. Michaels squad. The home side got off the mark with a converted free on six minutes, Gearóid O'Malley collected a fine pass from Declan Reilly three minutes later for their sides opener.

But things were to go drastically downhill from there on for the St. Michaels men, Curraha posted three on the spin, all from placed balls before Paddy Fitzsimons got the visitors only other score of the half in the 27th minute as the home side built up a four point cushion by half time 0-6 to 0-2.

Any chance St. Michaels had of mounting a second half comeback bit the dust 14 minutes after the resumption when the home side extended their lead to 1-8 to 0-3. Cian McFadden (1) and Shane McDonnell (2) replied for the visitors however Curraha added another minor on 56 minutes from a free while Brian O'Reilly completed the scoring for St. Michaels a minute later.
