Ballinabrackey's Dean McNamee

Meath Hill 2-13 Ballinabrackey 0-9

Thursday night saw Ballinabrackey take to the road for a trip to Meath Hill for the second of the second semi-final in this year's Reserve Cup Division 3.

Under horrendous weather conditions both teams took to the field for an 8pm throw-in. Ballinabrackey were first to get the scoreboard ticking as Ben Monahan slotted over for The Bracks. Meath Hill hit four points of their own, three from play, all without reply. That was until Cathal Monahan found Ballinabrackey's second. Meath Hill kept chipping away constantly, having the scoreboard moving, giving them a six point lead as we headed to the dressing room at the break. Half-time Meath Hill 0-9 Ballinabrackey 0-3.

The second half began like the first Ballinabrackey taking the opening point thanks to Adam Quinn. Meath Hill answered with their own keeping the six point cushion between the teams. It wasn't long before Meath Hill found the back of the net to stretch the lead for the home team. Dean McNamee kept Ballinabrackey a float scoring three points for The Bracks. Meath Hill scored their second goal when they chipped Dan Coyne in the Ballinabrackey goal. Dean McNamee scored Ballinabrackey's final point of the game from a spotted kick. Meath Hill popped one more point over for luck in the end to secure their place in the Reserve Cup Division 3 Final against Longwood.
