Navan O’Mahony’s came out with a seven-point win in the second round of the Corn na Bóinne on Thursday night. It was a cold night but conditions were good for football
Robbie Keelaghan kept the scoreboard operator busy from the start, opening the scoring within a minute of the throw-in. By the ten-minute mark, Navan O’Mahony’s had extended the lead to five points, with scores from Jake Regan, Sean Betson, and Keelaghan.
The next ten minutes saw the town side go eight points clear, with Aodhán Mallon and Conor Finnegan adding their name to the scoresheet.
Twenty-two minutes into the first half, Nobber got their first score of the game with a pointed free, which they followed with a point from play within two minutes. With five minutes to go, Finnegan looked set to find the net with a palmed effort from a Duggie Dillon pass but the Nobber netminder got a touch to the ball.

Nobber got off to a good start in the second half, scoring two points in quick succession and reducing the gap between the sides.
Navan O’Mahony’s stretched ahead again with Mallon, Brian Dillon, Regan and Evan Coffey scoring. Both sides introduced a number of subs, with Navan O’Mahony’s taking advantage of the unlimited subs rule in the competition.
The sides exchanged points in the closing minutes, with Mallon and midfielder Shane Maguire scoring for Damien Moran and Rory Maguire’s charges.
