Kiltale will hold a 40 year reunion for their 1982 and 1983 Jubilee Cup winning teams next Saturday January 27th in the clubhouse.
In 1982 - his first year as Kiltale trainer - Tipperary native Noel Keating delivered the clubs first senior hurling championship. Kiltale retained the senior championship the following year and added the Feis Cup in 1984. It was undoubtedly the most successful period in Kiltale's history until that famous five in a row between 2014 and 2019.
Speaking to Royal County Meath Yearbook in 1999 Keating said "Those were great days for Kiltale and it was marvellous to be part of their success. We had great players like Paddy Kelly who led them to their first Jubilee Cup title, Ger and Mickey Regan, Richie Melia, the late Robbie Melia, Tommy Cummins and Harry Donovan at our disposal.
The 1982 squad included Padraig Dunne, Seamus Lynch, Noel Regan, Paddy Kelly, Pascal Reilly, Ger Regan, Terry Pearle, Aidan Critcley, Paddy Walsh, Pat Regan, Thomas Clarke, Patsy Curley, Liam Ryan, Joe Clarke, Robbie Melia, Mickey Regan, Pat Kane, Richie Melia, Joe Gilsenan, TJ Kane, Tommy Cummins, Harry Donavan, Peter Farrell, Brendan Madden.
Since that glorious period the club lost 3 outstanding hurlers, Liam Ryan, Robbie Melia and Paddy Curley. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha
The night will include interviews and stories from players and officials from the '80's and beyond. There will also be a showing of rare footage from the celebrations from both finals.
The club extends an invitation to anyone who will like to join the celebrations starting at 8.30pm.
