Schools: Division 1 glory for St. Colmcille's S.N.S.

St. Colmcille’s S.N.S. Kells 9-7 Ratoath S.N.S. 1-4

For the first time since 2018 St. Colmcille S.N.S. have claimed the Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Boys Division 1 title with this comfortable win over Ratoath S.N.S. in the last game of the day at Pairc Tailteann. PHOTOS

The Kells school got a blistering start with goals from Louis Lynch and James Chamberlayne and along with points from Senan Arkins and Tadhg Morgan they raced into a 2-2 to 0-0 lead after six minutes. Ratoath got themselves back into the game with a Senan Brady goal but three points from Charlie Dunne, Killian Madden and Jack Farrell gave St. Colmcilles a 2-5 to 1-1 interval lead.

As in the first half the Kells boys got a great start to the second half when the impressive Tadhg Morgan got their third goal. Ratoath replied with three points but from there on St. Colmcilles dominated. Goals from Morgan (2), Harry Harte (2), Cillian Dixon Rae and Cian Brady set them on the road to a comfortable victory.

After the game Francis Flynn presented the Boys Division 1 cup to St. Colmcilles joint captains Tadhg Morgan and Senan Arkins.
