The North Meath school last won a schools football title in 2003.

Jim Hayes got Kill on the scoreboard first but from there till the end of the half it was all Kilskyre. Sean Savage opened their account with a goal, Adam Harte chipped in with 1-3 and with points from the impressive Sean Gilsenan, Fionn Owens and Killian Connell they opened up a 2-6 to 0-1 lead. Some great defending from Danny Kane, Gilsenan, Jack Lynch and Sean Donegan along with fines saves from keeper Shea Fagan kept the Kill scoreline to a minimum. The eventual winners finished the half in style with goals from Savage and joint captain Gilsenan either side of a great goal from Kill’s Jane Howley.

Kilskyre extended their lead in the opening minutes of the second half with points from Charles Morton and Daire Beacroft along with an Owens goal. To their credit Kill kept going. Three unanswered points from Hayes, Luke O’Malley and Peadar Callaghan gave them hope before Kilskyre’s 6th goal arrived courtesy of substitute James Lynam. Kill captain Joshua Kelly narrowed the gap with 1-1 in the closing stages but by then the title was heading to Kilskyre.

After the game Padraig Farrell presented the Division 5 cup to Kilskyre joint captains Sean Gilsenan and Daire Beacroft.
