After the excitement of the Division 2 finals, St. Andrew's Curraha and St Joseph's Boyerstown served up another great game of football in the Boys Division 4 final. PHOTOS

St. Andrew’s, playing with the wind, worked up a 1-6 to 0-2 half time lead. Jack McDermott got the scoreboard working. A brace from Boyerstown joint captain Alex Brady had the sides level after ten minutes but from there on the winners took control. Harry Dowse and Niall Horgan pointed before the games first goal came courtesy of Harry Greene. Further points from Horgan and Greene gave Curraha a seven point cushion at the break.

The switch of Boyerstown midfielder Alex Brady to the full forward line for the second half had a telling effect. The joint captain raised a green flag in the opening minutes but crucially Curraha went down the field and got a goal of their own against the run of play from Harry Dowse. Boyerstown dominated the next ten minutes. Three points from Brady and a Billy Rogers goal left the minimum between the teams with four minutes remaining. To their credit St. Andrews refused to buckle under pressure and reponded with points from Dowse and Horgan to seal their first school final win since 2008.

After the game Niamh Ronan presented the Boys Division 4 Cup to St. Andrews joint captains Jamie Rowland and Harry Greene.
