"History made in Ballinlough GFC this evening as we elected our first ever female Chairperson.

Congratulations to Noreen Brady who has assumed the position of Chairperson, a very popular decision in the room tonight as I think she was nominated by all present.

Noreen has given a life time of service to the club in various different roles but my first abiding memory of Noreen is when I was playing U-12 football (many years ago!) and herself and my mother amongst a few other hardy souls, were the greatest cheerleaders of our team come hail or shine, no matter the weather Noreen was there to keep the show on the road.

But the sideline cheering was just one facet of Noreen, it was at committee level where she really excelled, spearheading juvenile committees for years before finally working her way up to the top job in the club, and I have to say if we were to break new ground there was no better woman than Noreen to break it.
