Moynalvey N.S 9-4 (31) Skryne N.S 3-6 (15)
For the second year running Moynalvey N.S Boys left Pairc Tailteann as Champions, last year as Div. 4 Champions, this year as Div. 3 Champions; continuing the school’s good run in the Cumann na mBunscol competition with the girls team also claiming Div. 4 honours last year.
A total of twelve goals in an entertaining game, with nine going the way of the boys in maroon, five of those in the first half, with Skryne accounting for three in the same period.
Little separated the sides in the first half as Moynalvey left the field four points up, 5-1 to 3-3, but a goal blitz with three unanswered green flags being raised in the third quarter put the Moynalvey National School Boys well on the road to this impressive victory.
Skryne started the brighter of the two sides with 1-1 on the score board within three and a half minutes of the throw in.

The game’s next four scores went the way of Moynalvey, Adam Dunne opened his side’s scoring in the 5th minute with a goal which was quickly followed by a Soban Aziz goal, a point from James Hanifin and a third goal, this one coming from Conor Keogh to leave it 3-1 to 1-1 with eight minutes played.
However, it wasn’t long until Skryne N.S had matters levelled with two quick fire goals within a minute to draw the sides level for the first time, 3-1 apiece.
Once again, two quick fire goals within ninety seconds of each other, this time for Moynalvey N.S courtesy of Soban Aziz for his second and James Hanifin put daylight between the sides again, 5-1 to 3-1 with seventeen minutes played.
Skryne N.S tagged on a further pair of points, the first following a superb finger tip save from Harry McArdle, before referee James Brennan blew the half time whistle leaving Moynalvey N.S 5-1 to 3-3 ahead at the break.
Three more Moynalvey N.S goals in the third quarter blitzed Skryne N.S to give the boys in maroon a commanding thirteen point lead, 8-1 to 3-3, essentially putting the game to bed and leaving their opponents with a mountain to climb.

The goals coming from Adam Dunne whose shot from distance deceived the keeper to find it’s way to the net, the second from James Byrne and the dubious goals committee can decide if Matthew Quinlan got the final touch to a shot from Conor Keogh which rocketed to the net from an acute angle, after a brilliant Robert Walsh block at the other end denied Skryne N.S a goal opportunity.
It wasn’t until the seventeenth minute of the second half that Skryne N.S posted their first score of the half. A dominant Moynalvey N.S went on to add 1-3 with James Byrne accounting for 1-1 and a point each for the industrious Adam Dunne and James Hanifin.
Skryne added two points to their tally in the final five minutes to leave the final score line 9-4 to 3-6 and see Moynalvey National School claim Cumann na mBunscol honours on Final day for the second year running.
A fine all round polished team display in which everyone played a massive part, there were outstanding performances from Harry McArdle, Edward O’Shea, James Byrne, James Hanifin and Adam Dunne.
