Bru na Boinne and Boyne Valley booked their place in the semi final of this years Regional Football Championship after last night double header in cold but dry conditions at Dunganny Meath GAA Centre of Excellence.

Bru na Boinne and Tara, who reached last years final, served up an entertaining encounter on pitch 2. 

A brilliant goal from St. Mary’s star Sam Victory gave the St Patrick’s, Duleek/Bellewstown, St Mary’s, St Vincent’s and Eastern Gaels combination a 1-5 to 0-3 interval lead.

With Luke Mitchell to the fore Tara narrowed the lead to a point, the Dunshaughlion forward crashing home a close in free with ten minutes remaining. Duleek Bellewstown’s Jamie Crosby and John Flood added the insurance points for Niall Ronan’s charges late on to book their place in the last four as runners up in Group A.

Boyne Valley 3-15 Ardbraccan 0-12

It was very much plain sailing for Boyne Valley on pitch one. John McCarthy’s men had too much for the Dunderry, Cortown, O’Mahony’s, St Ultan’s combination. 

Ardbraccan enjoyed their best period in the game in the opening ten minutes and were three points up but before the break the winners were ahead 0-6 to 0-4.

The second half was all one way traffic. Syddan duo Daire Rowe and Sean Clare along with Slane’s Podge McGowan raised green flags as Boyne outscored their opponents 3-11 to 0-8 and seal their place in the semi final as Group A winners.

Boyne Valley scorers: Daire Rowe 1-7, Podge McGowan 1-1, Mark Foy 0-3, Sean Clare 1-0, Darren Brennan, Adam Quinn, David McLoughlin, Mark Fedigan, 0-1 each.

Ardbraccan scorers: Craig Munnelly O’Toole 0-4, Stephen Coogan 0-3, Adam Kelly and Conor Finnegan 0-2 each, Evan Coffey.
