Kildalkey 2-9 Rathmolyon 2-15

Kildalkey travelled the short journey to Rathmolyon on Sunday morning for the next round of the Division 3HL.

After a good win midweek against Kells, Kildalkey were optimistic of another 2 points but it was Rathmolyon who went in at the break ahead 1-6 to 0-5 .

Mattie Cully hit 3 frees and 2 from play in that first half and was Kildalkey’s only scorer as Rathmolyon capitalised on a few mistakes. The second half was Rathmolyons as they scored a goal early on and also hit some lovely points as the heavy rain came down Luke Rickard Shane Reilly and Sean Heavey all hit points for Kildalkey .

Kelvin lynch scored a good goal to keep his team’s hopes alive but Rathmolyon replied in

kind as the points kept coming 

Mattie Cully pointed another free and 

Podger Geoghegan scored a late late goal but Rathmolyon weren’t going to be denied as the finished up 2-15 to 2-9 winners on the day
