Moynalvey 0-9 Syddan 3-14

Syddan returned home with the two points following an excellent team performance against Senior side Moynalvey in Division 1B of the A League.

Syddan got off to a fast start and Kevin Traynor had them off the board with a point with the outside of the boot from the first attack of the game. Syddan continued to press and had the ball in the net on 9 minutes. A fine move resulted in Daire Rowe finishing to net to make it 1-3 to 0-1. David Mcloughlin tagged on 3 scores for Moynalvey but the Syddan attack was motoring well and had fine scores from play from Michael Fedigan, Eoin Lynch Duff, Kevin Traynor,Ben Blakemore and two from Daire Rowe. Cormac Dardis swung over a lovely score with the outside of his boot following a mark. With the last kick of the half Sean Clare buried a shot into the bottom corner following a great run from deep to leave the score at 2-8 to 0-4 at Half time.

Moynalvey battled hard and tagged on a few early scores but were finding it hard to break down the Syddan full back line of Ronan Mooney, Dara Dillon and Zack Bourne. After a fine crossfield ball from Ben Blakemore, Daire Rowe finished to the net after 11 minutes of the second half to essentially end the game as a contest. Kevin Traynor kept the scoreboard ticking with a couple of points and wing back Cormac Rafferty tapped over two excellent second half points. Cathal Dardis completed the scoring with a nice score from 30 yards out. Overall a very impressive win for the Syddan men.
