March 27, 2023

Tadgh Brosnan Blackhall Gaels

Blackhall Gaels 3-10 Ballivor 2-4

Blackhall got the better of Ballivor on Saturday evening in Kilcloon. The Round 3 clash was moved to Kilcloon due to the weather during the week.

The good ground in Kilcloon made for a fast start and Ballivor carved open the home defence to register the first goal of the game in the opening minutes. Blackhall responded shortly after when Conor Duffy scrambled the ball to the net to give the home side the early advantage.

Duffy was involved again on 19 minutes when he played a quick ball, from a mark to Tadgh Brosnan who finished well for Blackhall's second goal to open a 2-3 to 1-1 lead. The Gaels finished the half on a high when Dermot Carty scored their third goal on the cusp of half time to leave the sides 3-5 to 1-1 at the break.

Blackhall continued their good form in the second half with the impressive Charlie Ward kicking his second point of the day just after the restart. Luke Jennings and Brosnan both added to their tallies with points before Ballivor scored again. They kicked on in the second half scoring 1-3 their goal coming on 22 minutes. Luke Jennings finished off the scoring for the home side with a pointed free with 3 minutes to play to leave 9 points in it at the end.

Focus switches to the small ball for Blackhall as the hurling league kicks off having failed to launch last weekend due to the weather. Next up for Blackhall is the visit of Kilmainham on Friday week.
