Ballinabrackey's Simon Finn

Ballinabrackey 3-10 Moynalvey 3-6

Ballinabrackey played the first round of the premier championship away to Moynalvey.

The home side got the first score with a point from play. Evan Daly got Ballinabrackey on the scoreboard with 2 points from play, Moynalvey played the ball well and got another point from play but Ballinabrackey kicked on with points from Evan Daly, Sean Kavanagh and a great goal by midfielder Leo Cullen. Moynalvey didn’t drop the heads and came back with their own goal. Evan Daly was on the frees and kicked another over the bar when just after Simon Finn finished a well worked goal by Daly and Kavanagh. Just when Ballinabrackey thought they were steering away from the home side they came fighting back with another goal of their own. Points from Evan Daly and Dean McNamee just before half time left the score as Ballinabrackey 2:08 Moynalvey 2:02.

The second half started and Moynalvey got the first 2 scores after having a lot of possession in the opening 5 minutes. Colin Quinn kicked a point from play but a quick turnaround let Moynalvey find the back of the net again to leave only 2 points between the sides. They won the kick out and kicked a good point from play. Evan Daly kicked another good free to keep two between the teams but Moynalvey weren’t giving up and kicked another score over the bar. Evan Daly got on the ball again and found the back of the  Moynalvey net and this was to be the last score of the game. Well done on a good win.
