NHL Div 2B: O'Hanrahan fires Meath to second win

An outstanding display from Padraig O’Hanrahan was key for Meath as the recorded their second win in the NHL Division 2B with seven points to spare over Sligo at Markievicz Park.

The Ratoath star scored 15 points as Seoirse Bulfin’s men recorded back to back wins.

The home side got a great start and were 0-4 to 0-0 in front after six minutes. Meath fought back and helped by nine first half O’Hanrahan points led at the break 0-12 to 0-9.

Sligo dominated the opening 15 minutes of the second half and when Joe McHugh raised the games only green flag they were in front 1-12 to 0-14 after 44 minutes.

The visitors raised their game. O’Hanrahan levelled matters soon after and Pa Ryan gave Meath the lead with twelve minutes remaining. Further points from O’Hanrahan, Ryan and Jack Regan sealed a second win for the Royals.

The winners finished with 14 men, half back Kyle Donnelly was red carded with seven minutes remaining.
