St. Pauls NS Ratoath created history when claiming their first ever Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Girls Division 1 football title with this eight point victory over St. Olivers in the last game of the day at Pairc Tailteann. PHOTOS

The winners were first to score after Seóna Cunningham blasted to the net. St. Olivers responded with a Siobhan Shiels major before Cunningham grabbed her second goal with a little help from Olivers keeper Abby Egan. Shield closed out the half with the games first point and Pauls went in at the break 2-0 to 1-1 in front.

The Ratoath side dominated the second half, Cunningham completed her hat trick and a brace of points from Holly Nannery and Daisy Kehoe left the Navan school with too much to do.

The win completed a rise through the ranks for St. Pauls. They first competed in the Cumann na mBunscol in 2012 and last June they won the Division 1 Shield title. This was the first time the school competed in the Division 1.
