November 15, 2021

Moynalty's Cillian Gaynor

Moynalty 0-17 Slane 1-11

Moynalty made the early trip to Slane for the U15 Division 6 championship semi-final.

Slane were first out of the blocks when they scored a point in the first minute. Moynalty then got their scoring off kicking 3 points without reply from Cillian Gaynor, Dylan Farrelly and Seán MacMahon. Slane got a free and lobbed it in and it ended up being flicked into the net for a lucky goal which left them one point ahead. Dylan Farrelly replied with a point. Slane got three points and led by two at the first water break. When play resumed both teams traded scores before the visitors then got four points two from Dylan Farrelly, one each from Eoin Gilsenan and Cillian Gaynor. Slane added two more to their tally to leave the half time score a draw. Moynalty 0:10, Slane 1:07.

Moynalty trailed by a point at the second water break but dug deep for the last fifteen minutes and with some superb defending managed to hold Slane to just one point. A point from Cillian Gaynor and four from Shane Bennett sealed the win for Moynalty and sent them into the U15 Championship Division 6 final. david farrelly's charges won the Division 7 league earlier in the year.

It's great for a small rural club to have both their U15's and U13's heading into finals.
