Ladies: Super Sunday round up

October 26, 2021

Dunboyne are back in another Ladies SFC final

Sunday saw the Kepak sponsored Meath Senior, Intermediate and Junior A club championship semi finals down for decision in Dunganny.

JUNIOR

Skryne 7-19 Moynalvey 1-15

Duleek Bellewstown 2-07 St Pat's 3-08

The crowds turned up in their droves starting at noon with the 2 Junior semi finals were we saw Skryne & St Patrick’s book their place in the final. Skryne will be hoping to go one better after losing out to Clan na nGael in the championship final last year, and with 7 goals today and a hat trick from Bronagh Sheridan they will go into the game buoyant and full of confidence. But St Pats had a great win over Duleek Bellewstown in another cracking contest and will be looking to bring the Junior A Cup back to Stamullen.

INTERMEDIATE

St Colmcilles 2-14 Dee Rangers 3-08 Aet

Navan O’Mahonys 1-17 Ratoath 3-11 AET.

( O’Mahonys win 4-2 on penalty frees )

The final has been eventually decided after 2 extra time games & 1 that went to penalty frees .  As a supporter you certainly got your monies worth with 2 tight and well contested games and last throw of the dice scores in both matches took the games to extra time. That “never say die” attitude that the Co Seniors showed against Cork was apparent today.   But their eventually there had to be a winner and O’Mahonys & St Colmcilles who face off now in the final will certainly give us a real treat of a game. Really looking forward to this one.

SENIOR

Seneshalstown 3-18 Oldcastle 3-13

Dunboyne 2-19 Royal Gaels 2-05

A come back from the wise and seasoned Seneschalstown team after being 5 points down at half time again shows that you should never give up. They are now back in the Senior decider since their last appearance in 2018, and rightfully deserved with their 5 point victory over Oldcastle.

In the other game Dunboyne made it to 3 Senior finals in a row and will be favourites to retain their title.

This Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels team are on the up, and will take the positives out of this season’s championship after coming up from the Intermediate last year, and will be one of the teams to look out for in 2022.

Overall it was a great day’s football for the club supporter and the neutral supporter alike. Plenty of goals, tight games and the weather held out. “Another good day for Ladies football in the county. “
