Moylagh 0-6 Duleek Bellewstown 2-5

Moylagh ladies lost out to Duleek Bellewstown in the opening round of the JFC championship.

Suzie Mullally got the scoreboard working with a pointed free. Sustained pressure on Dul/Bellew’s kickouts unfortunately did not yield any more scores for Moylagh and Dul/Bellew broke up the field and got 2 points of their own. Another point by Stephanie Caffrey meant the sides went into the first water break level at 2 points each.

On resuming, Dul/Bellew scored a goal and after some end-to-end play, Moylagh were thankful to Aisling Gibney for putting a point on the board before half-time. 1-2 to 0-3 at the break.

Three attempts on goal early in the second half yielded no score for Moylagh while Dul/Bellew managed 2 of their own. This spurred Moylagh on to up their game and score 2 points, 1 by Cara Finnegan and 1 by Roisin Gilsenan.

Despite some good play, unfortunately, another Gilsenan point was all Moylagh could manage and Dul/Bellew pushed on to score another 1-1. Game finished 2-5 to 0-6.
