The late James Baugh clears for Kilskyre

To echo the sentiments of Ballinlough GFC, we at Kilskyre Hurling Club are devastated at the sudden loss of our dearly loved James ‘Jimmy’ Baugh.

The first thing you would see when you see Jimmy was his smile, he was a brilliant individual who had time for everyone young and old. He had one single attribute that stood out more than anything else, he did not pretend to be something he was not.

There was no show, no pretence just honest-to-God Jimmy Baugh, and that’s the legacy he will leave behind. This is a legacy all teenagers and young adults could take a lesson from, be yourself and not what others want you to be.

For Mary & Billy he was what any parent wants from a son and for Susan, Ann and everyone else Jimmy touched be grateful for the memories!

Hurling & Football in the parishes of Kilskyre & Ballinlough are all the poorer for this untimely loss both on and off the pitch. What Jimmy brought to the pitch was grit, spirit and doggedness but always with a smile.

Today and for some time we will grieve as a community but someday the ‘Jimmy Baugh’ smile will be with us again. So hold onto those two precious words Jimmy will be shouting down…. ‘BE YOURSELF’.

Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.

Rest In Peace Jimmy.
