The late Helen Moran

So sad to report the death of Helen Moran, Commons Road, Navan. Nee Brown, Helen was a loved member of two great GAA families.

Her late husband John was heavily immersed within Meath GAA affairs, at county board level, with the old Commons unit and in later days with the Bective club.

Then of course the Brown clan are synonymous with Walterstown GAA. Helen's late brother Kieran was a very active and dynamic club chairman when the Blacks captured the Keegan Cup for the first time in 1978.

Her sons John and Noel both wore the Bective jersey with distinction. John played county junior while Noel's very successful companies presently sponsor not alone the Bective club but numerous other GAA events and activities.

Helen's nephews Alan and Paul Brown were star players for Walterstown. Alan was involved with Sean Boylan's squads for a number of years and participated in the 1991 All Ireland final defeat to Down.

A great friend and neighbour, Helen loved her flowers and garden. She offered a Cead Mile Failte to all visiting the Moran household seeking John's expertise and knowledge of GAA affairs. Helen Moran was President of the Bective club at the time of her death.
