MEATH’S rising star Emma Duggan has been honoured with The Croke Park/LGFA Player of the Month award for August.
Emma, 17, from Dunboyne, has been acknowledged for a couple of brilliant performances in August for the Royal County, en route to next Sunday’s TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Final against Tipperary at Croke Park.
She scored 3-2, including two pointed frees, in Meath’s quarter-final victory over Wexford, before adding 1-5, including a penalty goal and two pointed frees, as Eamonn Murray’s charges defeated Roscommon in the semi-finals at Nowlan Park.
Emma has been in scintillating for Meath throughout the year, and she scored a remarkable personal haul of 3-6, including 3-3 from play, when the Royals defeated Dublin in the Leinster Minor A Championship.
When Meath defeated Kildare to land the provincial title, Emma weighed in with a superb 1-10.
Emma and Meath are chasing more silverware next Sunday, when they meet Tipperary for the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate crown at 1.45pm.
Emma was presented with her award by Alan Smullen, General Manager, The Croke Park.
